Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
